Tide Pool
Recently Martha was commissioned to create a very large painting for a client in Florida. The finished piece, 110″ x 94″ is shown above.
We have documented the creation of the diptych below.

First washes on the left canvas 110″ x 56″

Beginning on the right canvas 110″ x 38″

Side by side
Adding darks
Blending darks

Working on connections
The painting was painted on the wall and in a horizontal position on saw horses.

Almost finished

Martha, I saw this beautiful work on Pinterest. I opened your website, looking for this work and then saw the Making of a Painting, followed it, and it turned out to be the work I was looking for. I would never have guessed it from the original reds and yellows. Thank you for taking us through the process.

Thank you, Gretchen. The Tide Pool diptych is the largest painting I have ever painted and the first time I have documented the process. I am glad you enjoyed! Martha
